vvvv | 10th-11th August

vvvv is a toolkit for real time video synthesis. It is designed to facilitate the handling of large media environments with physical interfaces, real-time motion graphics, audio and video that can interact with many users simultaneously.
vvvv uses a visual programming interface. Therefore it provides a graphical programming language for easy prototyping and development.
The workshop will begin with an introduction to the structure of vvvv including:
– Nodes for basic patching.
– Concepts such as spreads.
– Subpatches and modules.
Then will go on to cover:
– The development of 3d patches and use of video in 3d space.
– The use of webcams and other input systems.
– How to connect vvvv to other systems over networks.
Participants will take open source examples which will be looked at and reworked.
Workshop Leader: Sebastian Gregor
Sebastian Gregor is author of vvvv and works in the field of both non-commercial and commericial interactive installations.
